Dallas County hopes to assist small businesses reeling from the COVID-19 pandemic through its Emergency Business Assistance Program.

The county has been taking applications for the $5 million EBAP for more than a week. Applicants may receive a forgivable loan of up to $15,000.

The National Development Council, a national economic development nonprofit, has been tapped to be the program’s third-party administrator.

Small businesses can visit a website to apply with the EBAP. They can call 214-845-7673 to leave a voicemail message if they need assistance with navigating the website, with a callback coming the next business day.

CBS DFW reported that because of the influx of applications, the application process may not be open to all businesses.

A randomized selection process will pick which businesses can submit a full application.
