As part of its Recovery Mesquite campaign, the City of Mesquite will offer relief funding to residents and businesses that have been negatively impacted by COVID-19.
According to a news release, funding will be provided via the CARES Act.
“The City Council is eager to get these CARES funds into the hands of our residents and businesses as quickly as possible to help them recover," Mayor Bruce Archer said. "We are also excited to get additional funds into the hands of our local charities to aid them in their work within our community in regards to COVID-19 recovery for families.”
To qualify, residents cannot be receiving assistance from other entities and their household income must be within the Area Median Income. Any funds received must be used for mortgage or rent assistance.
Qualifying businesses that are located in Mesquite city limits and have no more than 50 full-time employees are eligible for a grant up to $50,000.
Applicants can find more information about assistance online.
The Recovery Mesquite campaign is an ongoing series of events by the city and its partners to help its residents, members of the business community and others bounce back quickly from the pandemic.
