The City of Balch Springs is offering assistance to local residents who have been negatively affected by the economic crisis related to COVID-19 restrictions, with as much as $2,500 in assistance available per household, as well as grants to small businesses.
The city’s COVID-19 Relief Grants program offers up to $100 in food cards or vouchers to be provided to each applicant household, with all other relief to be provided in the form of direct payments to companies, banks or landlords in the form of mortgage, rent and utility assistance, according to a post on the City of Balch Springs website.
The city’s frequently asked questions information about small business grants specifies that any business located within the city with 500 or fewer employees may be eligible, but it does not specify the maximum grant amount available.
Pre-applications can be turned in to the city’s Neighborhood Services Department through Aug. 21. Links to online application forms and PDFs of the forms can be found on the city’s website.
PDF applications must be emailed to Covid19Relief@cityofbalchsprings.com.
