Small businesses in Mesquite can apply for up to $50,000 in forgivable loans

The City of Mesquite is accepting applications from small businesses for up to $50,000 in forgivable loans due to the devastating impact of COVID-19.

Mesquite officials say the loans come from the Dallas County Emergency Business Assistance Program. The application period ends Aug. 23. 

Businesses that are interested can go online to get more information and to submit a pre-application. However, business owners who have additional questions can email queries to NTXsmallbiz@NDConline.org or call 214-845-7673.

In order for small businesses to be eligible to apply for the grant, the business must be located in Dallas County, must not have more than 100 employees, and must make less than $10 million in yearly revenue.

Moreover, to qualify. businesses must be an officially licensed business since February 2019. The company must be able to show at least a 25% loss in revenue caused by the coronavirus crisis. The business can't receive more than $50,000 in the Paycheck Protection Program.
