The Mesquite City Council recently approved approximately $5.6 million in new residential street repairs and paving as part of the ongoing “Real. Texas. Roads.” street bond program to repair roads in neighborhoods.
The total amount approved, $5.58 million, will be split between two separate contracts, according to the city. KIK Underground LLC will receive $1.43 million to conduct paving improvements in the Quail Hollow neighborhood, and HQS Construction LLC will receive $4.15 million for paving improvements in the Town East Estates.
“Quality streets in our neighborhoods is vital to maintaining community pride and curbside appeal of our housing stock,” Mayor Bruce Archer said. “The City Council is committed to repairing as many residential streets as possible, as quickly as we can. Improving streets also improves neighborhood vitality. This program is not just about pavement; it’s about the people who live in Mesquite.”
