Enrollment Analysis: Asian students comprised 1.9% of Pioneer Technology & Arts Academy School District's student body in 2022-23 school year

There were 48 Asian students enrolled in Pioneer Technology & Arts Academy School District in the 2022-23 school year, 37.1% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Pioneer Technology & Arts Academy School District welcomed 2,462 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, Asian students comprised 1.9% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Pioneer Technology & Arts Academy School District roughly covers schools within Dallas County and has a main office in Dallas.

Among the six schools in Pioneer Technology & Arts Academy School District, Pioneer Technology (PTAA) Greenville recorded the highest enrollment of Asian students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 21 students.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
